Moved from Kofu City and reopened in April, 2007.
Nation’s only museum specialized in gems with the massive collection of gems and jewels. Displays total 500 kinds 3,000 pieces of exhibits.
An exhibits of many uncut stones, cut stones, jewelry products are unusual to be seen, here you can learn how the glittering jewels is created out of uncut stones.
Our special feature is a gigantic crystal which is one of the nation’s largest crystal (height : 1.8m, width : 1.2m, weight : 1,270 kg) .

Getting there | ●Retro Bus from Fuji Kyuko Line Kawaguchiko Station to “Yamanashi Gem Museum” ●From Chuo Expressway “Lake Kawaguchi I.C,” or East Fuji Five Lakes Road “Fujiyoshida I.C” take National highway No.139 toward Lake Motosu area and turn right at Higashi-koiji intersection, next turn at Lake Kawaguchi Ohashiminami intersection to the right again, then proceed 200m straigh. ●from the Kofu area, go straight on to National highway No.137 toward Lake Kawaguchi area, cross the bridge of Lake Kawaguchi Ohashimake and make a left turn at the Lake Kawaguchi Ohashiminami intersection, it locates 200m ahead. |
