Okuno dam is only full-scale rock-fill dam in Izu Peninsulain order to secure upstream safety and to keep drinking water from Ito Okawa (aka: Matsu-kawa) which runs through the center of this hot-spring resort.
Lake Matsukawa is a lake dam of Okuno dam.
Capable to play in the open space of the water front and the open space of the flower field too, in fact, in a spring cherry tree and autumn colored leaves, you can enjoy the shore all through the year of changing seasons.
Promenade going around lake is maintained, and person visiting healthy walking does not die out.
The view from pedestrian bridge (shachokyo) “Okuno echo bridge” of symbol, 100m in length of Lake Matsukawa is wonderful, too.
In addition, Lake Matsukawa is popular as fishing spot.
