Fireworks show of Ito Anjin Festival
2016/08/16
The greatest summer event of Ito city was held on 10 August. It was the part of festival, which is organized every year. Anjin Festival is organized in memory of William Adams- British navigation officer, who constructed the first Western-style ships in the country as a key advisor to the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Adams was a great contributor to the early development of the Japanese ship-building industry.
Official ceremony
From 15:00 to 16:15 was held the official ceremony of Anjin Festivial, but I don’t recommend it for the tourists. During the ceremony, the audience were listening speeches of ambassadors and sang national athems of countries related to the Wiliam Adams. At the end of ceremony local performancers presented dance called ‘odengaku’.
Fireworks show
When the sky got completly dark, the 1 hour firework show had started. The show was the main, final event of the Anjin Festival.
You could see the fireworks from the almost every place in the city, because they were shooting up from 5 locations over the sea. The most of the people gatchered on the beaches and set up family picnics. If you wanted to watch the display more comfortably, you could rent the beach chair. Fireworks, which were coloring the sky in silver and gold, were the most adorable ones. They are called ‘Niagara’, because they resemble the falling waterfall.
Summary
The sounds of excitement were hearing during the whole evening. I took a lot of great photos, but I’m sure, that watching the show on real is incomparably better!
