Bamboo Lantern Garden, Evening Light-Up in Izu Naranda Village 2014

The city of Kawazu is famous for cherry blossom, former Amagi Tunnel and spa, of course. Summer evening light-up event “Bamboo Lantern Garden Light-Up” event will be held in “Kawazu Heian Buddha Statue Pavilion in Izu Naranda no-sato Villate” next to Nanzen-ji Temple. The gentle flame of floating candles in a handmade bamboo garden lanterns will light the way to the shrine.
The pavilion opened in 2013 preserves the oldest wooden statues of Buddha and they are all highly important cultural properties. Pavilion is open night hour during an event the (entrance fees required) .
Stalls to sale of tokoroten gelidium jelly, sno-cones and beverage are available.
