An event of Yugawara in the early summer, blessing of clear water!
When night falls, a fireflies fly appears at the water’s edge of Manyo Park and dance around.
The fireflies of the Manyo koen Park is discharged to a larva in “a firefly hut” in the Manyo koen Park in breeding, the middle of March by the hand of the Yugawara fourth grader, and sees a natural occurring firefly afterwards.
In addition, a lot of natural fireflies inhabit along Fujiki River, Chitose River, Niizaki River and can enjoy a firefly in the whole Yugawara town during the firefly developmental period.
Please enjoy time of blooming Iris garden and the fantastic fireflies in darkness.

Getting there | to get to Oku-Yugawara take the bus for “Ochiai-Bashi Bridge” and get off at Yugawara-Fudou no Taki waterfall, takes about 10 min. By car : from National highway No. 135 “Yugawara Station entrance”. Go straight till you get to Yugawara Station and proceed approx. 5 min. You can find a parking lot. (parking number is limited.) |
