Matsukawa Wash-Tub Riding Race

Wash-tub Riding Race is a very unique race to go down the river on the big washtub using rice scoop shape oars to row. Tubs are 1m diameter and about 30cm deep.
It takes place in Matsukawa River which is counted as one of “the eight views of Ito. The river runs the center of Ito-Onsen Spring and race range is 400m between Ideyu Bridge and Fuji no Hiroba Square.
Various types of races will be carried out, “The International Race” for foreign participants,”Child Race”, for “Tourists Race” a group race” participants must put on Yukata Summer Kimono, for “Groups” 4 tubs are tied together, and more.
Every year cosplay participants catch people’s attention and lift up the race, you can enjoy either register or just watching.
