After left China Town, it took me only few minutes to reach Yamashita Park where there spreads blue sea and seagulls hovering above the sea.
Last time I visited here with my friends, it was a sunny day.
The sea water is so blue that day, there was a concert being held at the lawn in the park, lovers sat on benches, basked in the sun. It was a warm day, Yamashita Park was filled with people.
That was the first weekend I had spent in Yokohama since I arrived at Japan. Everything was new to me and I tried to be careful.
Today is the second time I visit here after I have been staying in Japan for three months. The weather is cold with rain, there is fewer people in the park. The park felt deserted than last time I visit.
Hikawa Maru, the ocean liner still docked in the bay but looked lonely in the rain.
A flock of white seagulls perched on the long chain of Hikawa Maru. They stood motionless in the cold wind.
I went further into the park, saw an old man sat on a bench feeding seagulls, with a large flock of seagulls gathering around him.
A friend of mine took huge interest in the feeding, so she also went to a convenience store and bought some bread to feed these birds.
The result is that she though that the most funny thing of traveling in Yokohama is to feed seagulls. I just hope next time she can visit here on a sunny day.
Many architectures in Yokohama are built in western style. It’s a glossy side of modern Japan.
After feeding seagulls, we went to Red Brick Warehouse.
A skating rink was setup in the open space of the square with red brick buildings in the background. Skaters are having fun in the rink with joy, seemed forgotten the bitterly cold weather.
Last time I visit Red Brick Warehouse, there was a beer festival being held at here. The limited space of the square was packed with stalls and tourists. People grabbed beers sitting or standing, talking leisurely.
Today however it is near Christmas, the place is ornamented with Christmas trees, Santa Claus, elk and other Christmas-related decorations. The space is filled with thick Christmas atmosphere.
Christmas is coming, it’s customary to eat cheesecake and fried chicken. Merchant cake scheduled service was started a long time ago, once the 25th over, all the Christmas store will be pulled into the new year, all the services and advocacy campaigns.
Holidays in different countries are celebrated in different ways, but business marketing tools are very much the same.
