The 64th Chrysanthemum Exhibition at Odawara Castle
2014/11/11
I was looking forward to the 64th Chrysanthemum Exhibition of Odawara Castle from a long time ago. After had a look of Rakujyuen’s gorgeous chrysanthemum exhibition, I was expecting the exhibition at Odawara Castle, wondering what chrysanthemums will be exhibited at there. Finally I and my friend went to Odawara Castle today. Maybe because it is a holiday today and many great shows scheduled at the castle, there were many tourists at the castle.
The chrysanthemum exhibition was kind of disappointing to me because there were only few types of flowers and the number of flower were limited. However all flowers in the garden were all in full blossom and I was with my friends which made me feel really great.
The weather was great, the sky was clear and pure blue.
Shichi-Go-San is a traditional Japanese festival for children, blessing the healthy growth of children. One that day, parents and their children neatly dressed in Kimono will go to a shrine to make a pray. The festival ceremony is due to be hold on November 15th every year, however because it is a holiday, Hotoku-Ninomiya Shrine in Odawara Castle prepared a blessing ceremony for the local children. I walked by following the sound of drums, I saw many kids dressed in Kimono all looked so cute!
These kids are so adorable!
Drummers hit hard on the drums to send their best blessing to the children.
Odawara Castle were blessing to all the people who came to the festival!
