The 57th Soga Umbrella Burning Festival

The Festival was originated from the Tale of Soga which described when Juro Soga and Goro Soga, the Soga brothers were takeing vengeance on his father’s killer, used a burning umbrella as a torch.
During the memorial service of umbrella burning, old umbrellas collected from the whole country will be burned to remember the Soga brothers.
There will be parade imitating the Soga brothers and Ukiyoe painting exhibition as well as children’s sumo contest held in front of the station.
