A temple built by Hojo clan, famous for its beautiful lotus flower
Hojo Masamune was the third child of Hojo Tokimune who was the 8th regent of Kamakura Bakufu.
Tokimune built the temple in 1333 in order to commemorate Hojyo clan.
Munehito who was Tokimune’s first son, built the temple, decided the name of the temple “Jyoganji Temple.”
There is a memorial tower at the north side of the main building which worshiping the Hojo clan.
The temple has 300 pots of 200 types of lotus planted within the temple, the lotus blossom in mid-June to early August, attracting many tourists.
Best flower viewing time is from morning to the noon.
