The monument of Princess Yaehime and her maids
The park is a memorial park in commemoration of Princess Yaehime and her five maids. Princess Yaehime was in love with Minamoto no Yoritomo but the two were forced to break up each other, and Yaehime died after that.
The park stretches for 5,500 square meters, it has well-reserved habitat for birds and insects, abundant green environment. The park was renamed Mezuka Historical Park in 1994.
The monument is called Mezuka from the past, it located in the right side of the park, related ceremonies are hold here every April by Tanakayama Mezuka Historical Site Preservation Society and others.

Getting there | Get off at Takyo Station of Izu-Hakone-Tetsudo Line, from there take a taxi for approx. 15 minutes. From Mifuku IC of Route 136, drive toward Ito area via local roads and Ito / Ohito road, turn left at Shimobatake Intersection. Drive along the road for approx. 10 minutes. |
