25 meters in height and 7 meters in width, it is one of the largest waterfall in Izu.

Jyoren-no-Taki Waterfall is located in Yugashima of Izu, Shizuoka, it is 25 meters in height and 15 in depth of the pond under it, it’s the biggest waterfall among many waterfalls of Mt. Amagi, The fall was named after a temple nearby called Jyoren-ji Temple from the past. However the temple is not exists anymore.

The waterfall has a long history, it is created by the magma poured from past eruption of Mt. Hachikubo which is a parasite volcano of Mt. Amagi. The upstream part of Kano River is called Hontani River which is a mountain stream.

The elevation of Jyoren-no-taki Waterfall is just about 310 meters, but the water of the river is cold and clear, temperature remains 16 degree centigrade even during summer.

Around the fall is a habitat for a rarely seen type of fern called Jyoren Shida, which was designated as one of Natural Monument of Shizuoka.

There is also a monument for Ishikawa Sayuri’s work “Amagi Koe.”
