The Hakone Museum of Art is a sister museum of MOA Museum of Art.
Mokichi Okada (1882-1995), the founder of MOA Museum of Art founded the Art Preservation Society of Tomei (now Mokichi Okada Art and Culture Foundation) in 1952 and opened The Hakone Museum of Art in Gora district of Hakone.
The Hakone Museum Art focuses on displaying medieval Japanese ceramics from the Jômon period (10.000B.C-200B.C) through to the Edo period (1615-1867).
The museum also has a Japanese-style garden where you can enjoy beautiful natural scenes throughout the year.
