Pond Shiranuta ― The habitat of Natural Monument Harpoon Green Frog ―

The Pond Shiranuta circled by mysterious virgin forests, is designated as the habitat of the Natural Monument Harpoon Green Frog of Shizuoka Prefecture. From June through July, the frog shows it’s mysterious habits to lay eggs wrapped up in bubbles on the branch of the tree. The creatures living at Pond Shiranuta and the neighboring areas are carefully protected and designated as the Natural Monument of Shizuoka Prefecture. It is forbidden catching the creature or eggs at the pond.
Getting There
It is 30 minutes by car from Katase-Shirata Station to the promenade entrance. It is a 30-minute walk from the promenade entrance.
