We sincerely hope you will come and enjoy this festival.
Atami Zakura, a unique variety of cherry tree is a cold-resistant cherry native to India which blossoms in early January to late February. The tree was brought to Japan along with lemon and date palm by Italians who visited Atami around 1871. Since then it had been planted and expanded by the locals for generations.
Early blooms and late blooms of flowers together form two layers of flower that can be enjoyed at the same branch for as long as about one month.
