Izu Peninsula is a peninsula located at the east side of Shizuoka Prefecture which is facing the Pacific Ocean. It is a well known tourist site that can be easily accessed from Tokyo. There are also many toll roads running and managing by central government or various prefecture or local governments except Japan’s national expressway. With a single lane road on each side and a width almost same as a common national road of Japan, Izu Skyline is a favorite driving route for many drivers. Izu Skyline extends 40 kilometers from Atami Pass Interchange at the northern end and Amagi Plateau Interchange at the Southern end. There are eight observation platforms alongside the road where you can enjoy broad panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Atami City, etc.
